- We will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and, along with your private Egyptologist guide, begin your Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo tour in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Start by visiting the Egyptian Museum, which houses the greatest and most significant monuments in Egypt’s history since its establishment in 1901. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Salah El-Din Citadel, a magnificent fortress that served as Egypt's seat of government until the 1860s, and was completed in 1182. Next, explore the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as "The Alabaster Mosque," built between 1830 and 1848, modeled after the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
